Every year more members show up to help out. As always it’s a great feeling to help people in the community less fortunate than ourselves. The reward is what you give back when you give to others! Thank YOU!! Memorial Day: Falls on the last Monday of May, commemorates the men and women who died while serving in the American military. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades. Unofficially, at least, it marks the beginning of summer. ~ The officers and staff would like to wish everyone a very safe and happy Memorial Day as we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice to make this a free nation. Union Meeting: Our next union meeting is Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at 8 pm in the large meeting hall. We will have pizza and wings at this meeting. Retirees will meet an hour earlier at 7 pm in the conference room. You can also find this information posted on our website. Dan Kuntz & Bonnie Petrotta |
